About John Roggensack: Saxophonist John Roggensack is not just a musician; he’s a maestro with a profound understanding of jazz in all its forms. A graduate of MacEwan University and the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (UK), John’s expertise spans big band pedagogy, jazz improvisation, theory, and commercial music arranging. He is deeply rooted in the music education community, having served in various capacities with organizations such as the Calgary Association for the Development of Music Education and the Calgary Board of Education’s Fine Arts Council.
Performance Highlights: John Roggensack’s musical journey has taken him to prestigious stages and festivals across Canada, including the Edmonton International Jazz Festival, JazzYYC Summer Festival, Medicine Hat Jazz Festival, Lethbridge Jazz Festival, Sylvan Lake Jazz Festival, Edmonton Blues Festival, Vernon Jazz and Blues Festival, Canadian Rocky Mountain Music Festival and many more. He has shared the spotlight with iconic artists such as Doc Severinson, Wycliffe Gordon, Ingrid Jensen, and Colin James, showcasing his versatility and artistry.
