Technology, anatomy, physics, and other topics highlight the advances of the sport over time and show that science is found everywhere in ice hockey.
Did you know that the average speed of a professional hockey player is between 16 and 40 kilometres per hour? There is a reason that hockey is known as one of the fastest games on Earth, and it is coming in fast for the ultimate power play at TELUS Spark Science Centre!
Spark is about to get called for icing – literally, as HOCKEY: Faster Than Ever is on now until March 13! It is time to lace up some skates and learn about the technology, anatomy and physics that goes into this Canadian classic.
Visitors will get to experience hockey like never before:
- The origins and culture of the game.
- Learn the rules of the game.
- Jump on the rink replica in The Science Lab.
- See real game-used gear from hockey's biggest stars.
HOCKEY – Faster Than Ever is an exhibition produced and toured internationally by Flying Fish in collaboration with the Montréal Science Centre and supported by the NHL and NHLPA.
