TAKE AN EMOTIONAL JOURNEY WITH A GHOSTLY LOVE STORY
Experience the most famous ballet of the romantic era through Giselle.
You will be awe-struck by the emotional power and inspiring choreography when you join Giselle, a young peasant girl whose secret relationship unravels the fabric of her idyllic village with a deeper deception at play that drives her to madness. Your journey will continue as trust and betrayal twist the plot in the other-worldly realm of Act 2, when the ethereal Willis seek their revenge.
Artistic Director Christopher Anderson will premiere a new interpretation of this masterpiece. It will be a stunning addition to Alberta Ballet’s repertoire of classics which have previously included Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.
“Revisiting classical works is such an important part of what we do. These steps and stories are the foundation of our art form. By creating this new version, we will not only investigate the traditions of this deeply emotional and romantic story but also share it in a way that resonates for a new generation.”
